Topic 1: Classical approaches to management
In this topic, we examine how management theories have evolved. Firstly, we consider the classical management theories. These include scientific management, which focuses on matching people and tasks to maximize efficiency, and administrative management, which focuses on identifying the principles that will lead to the creation of the most efficient system of organization and management.
Topic 2: Behavioral approach to management
In the topic, we consider behavioral management theories. These focus on how managers should lead and control their workforces to increase performance and also use uses the behavioral approach today.
Topic 3: Quantitative and contemporary approaches to management
- In this topic, we discover the Management Science Theory that focuses on the use of rigorous quantitative techniques such as Quantitative Management, Operations Management, Total Quality Management, Management Information System to help managers make maximum use of organizational resources to produce goods and services. In addition, the organization environment theories are also explained in this topic.
